Walsh & Monaghan Pty Ltd first opened its doors in 1923. Originally operating as a real estate agency, a stock and station agent as well as valuation practice, we were established by two South Coast residents, Ulrick Walsh and Stan Monaghan, in the historic Walsh’s Mitre 10 building on Nowra’s iconic main street.
Highly regarded for professionalism and service excellence, the business quickly became a force in the region’s property market, as well as further afield, with a second office opening in Kiama in the 90s before moving to Wollongong in 2001. Since then, additional offices have opened in Bega and Mittagong.
After nearly seven decades, the real estate sales and leasing component of Walsh & Monaghan was sold in 1992. This allowed us to focus exclusively on property valuations, as well as developing more specialised consultancy roles for government bodies, public organisations and in property-related court proceedings.
Today, Walsh & Monaghan is the valuer of choice for some of Australia’s largest national and multinational companies – including Endeavour Energy, Alinta Energy and Stockland – as well as local government organisations across the Shoalhaven, Shellharbour, Wollongong, Wingecarribee, Wollondilly, Kiama, Campbelltown, Eurobodalla and Camden. We also manage large contracts for several public departments, including Defence Housing Australia, Property NSW, Roads & Maritime Services and the NSW Valuer General.
With 21 valuers in our ranks, including our five directors, Walsh & Monaghan delivers a thoroughly modern and innovative valuing service backed by years of professional experience and local knowledge.
Walsh & Monaghan is committed to providing a best practice valuation service for its clients; a safe and fair work environment for its staff; and ethical business relationships for all its clients.
