Michael Rix

Michael has more than 45 years professional property experience, working in London, Sydney, Canberra, and the NSW South Coast, specialising in commercial and complex residential valuations. With extensive practical experience working in private enterprise at a partner / director level Michael co-founded his own commercial property firm, Barton Rix, in London in 1998 during which time he was inducted as an Accredited Arbitrator and Independent Expert for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, prior to engineering a merger for Barton Rix and returning to Australia in 2009.

Initially working as an Associate with fellow Network Property Group firm Caddey Searl & Jarman in Merimbula, Michael joined Walsh & Monaghan in 2020 as a consultant valuer, working mainly from his home base in Tura Beach.

Having successfully trained several graduate valuers during his career, he is about to undertake a similar role with trainee valuers who have recently joined the firm.

Outside the office, he spends as much time as he can with his Victoria based grandchildren and counts bushwalking, golf, and DIY as his main hobbies.
